I'm getting a lot of great feedback on the book, which is incredible. I have loved getting your messages with your thoughts and impressions - and I love that people are enjoying the story! Like I said to a friend on Facebook, writing is a lot like cooking a great meal or making a delicious dessert. The most satisfying part is to sit and listen to the yummy noises as everyone enjoys what you've made. As an author, I want to transport people to another world, engage their imagination and connect them with the characters in their trials, struggles and triumphs. To have people read what I've created and enjoy it is the biggest thrill.
So what's next?
I've had quite a few questions about buying signed copies, so we'll work on making that happen. Thankfully I know someone who works in IT (*wink wink - my husband). I'll post when they're available. (But seriously, signed copies? Someone pinch me.)
YES, there is a book two! I spent some time working on it when book one was with beta readers and my editor, so I already have a good start. I've mapped out a schedule to give me a goal to shoot for, and my hope is to have it finished, polished and available by late May or early June. I already have a slot scheduled with my editor and we'll start working on cover art after the holidays. It's shaping up to be an exciting story - I get more jazzed about it the more I write. I can't give any hints just yet, but let's just say, book one is just the beginning.
When I started To Whatever End, I knew it would be a series and I've always had a rough plan for each book. Originally I thought it would be a trilogy, but honestly I think there are at least four stories that need to be told. We'll see how the books shake out, and the most important thing is telling the stories well. Once this series is done, David and I have tons of ideas for where to go next. I'm really struggling with impatience because I want to write ALL THE THINGS.
To all my friends and family who have been so supportive - thank you. Seriously, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This week has been a wild ride and I'm so excited for everything that is to come.
