A quick description from the back cover:
Home after their long absence, Daro and Cecily want nothing more than to pick up the pieces of their life and return to normalcy. But outside events intrude and the memories of what they lived through aren’t so easy to leave behind.
Pathius languishes, an unchained prisoner in a foreign land, doubtful of his place in the world. In Imara, he is offered a chance for a new life, if he can release the ghosts of his past and accept the man he has become.
As an invading army threatens their homeland, Daro, Cecily, and Pathius are drawn back into the political turmoil of Halthas. An assassin wreaks havoc in the city, a dangerous artifact is stolen, a force bent on conquest marches toward their border, and they all must take up arms to defeat an enemy their kingdom is not prepared to face.
I'm in the beginning stages of writing book four in the series - The Heirs of Imar. This will be the final installment in this series and I anticipate it will be released this fall.
In the meantime, I've been working on a side project. Every book has some downtime, particularly when a manuscript is with beta readers or my editor, which leaves me without something to write. Consistent writing is important for me. If I go too long without writing, I have a maddeningly hard time getting the wheels turning when it's time to start the next book. So instead of taking months off while book three was out of my hands, I wrote something else! It's set in the same world as the Echoes of Imara series, but it's a stand-alone novel, so people will be able to read it whether or not they've read the series books. But my series readers will notice a few things that are familiar.
This means I'll have a new release available in a couple of months!
The new book, entitled Assassin's Charge, is set in the Attalonian Empire, across the sea from our familiar kingdom of Halthas:
Rhisia Sen is one of the best assassins in the Empire—silent, efficient, and deadly. She is offered a lucrative new contract, and if she completes the job, it could be her last. But once she arrives at her destination, she discovers her target is a child.
The contract, and her reputation, demand she kill the boy—if she can bring herself to ignore his innocent face. But another assassin has already been sent to kill her, and a notorious bounty hunter is on her trail. Saving the child may be her only chance at survival.
This book has been so much fun to write. It's full of action - chases, escapes, traps, flights across the sea, and an assassin who gets more than she bargained for when she accepts a new job. I'm really excited to be able to share it with you!
P.S. Just a friendly reminder - if you enjoy a book, telling your friends and leaving a review are great ways to help spread the word!
